Description
JOURNEY SUPER CAL IS EASY CALCIUM. No Two-Hour Rule!
For 25 years, we've been told 'bariatric patients need calcium citrate, but there are now more modern, specialized forms of calcium that are even better than ordinary calcium citrate.
The calcium form used in Journey SuperCal, patented Dimacal® - Dicalcium Malate - does not require acidification for absorption and is absorbed over a much longer segment of the small intestine, giving the bariatric post-surgical patient a much larger surface area for uptake. These properties make SuperCal ideal for bariatric calcium supplementation.
"A popular bariatric physician once said, 'If bariatric deficiencies hurt, we'd all take our supplements!' At 10 years post op, I needed a titanium plate with 7 screws in my ankle from a bone loss deficiency fracture - many of our support group members have fractured a wrist and or ankle in household slips and loss of teeth in longterm bariatric patients is common. Calcium deficiencies do hurt and longterm post ops need to WAKE UP as when it happens to you, it is too late!"
Journey SuperCal is efficient, meaning you don't need a 'crazy high' amount to get your required dose:
- Highest bioavailability with little or no absorption interference
- Backed by research and patents for minerals and mineral absorption
- Most absorbable and bioavailable form of calcium available in the world
- Absorbs almost entirely into the body to meet the recommended dietary intake
Not all calcium is alike. Dicalcium malate is an especially rich source of elemental calcium since it is comprised of two calcium molecules attached to each malic acid molecule. Malic acid is a naturally occurring compound found in apples and cherries. In a study of calcium absorption in humans, dicalcium malate demonstrated the longest half-life and greatest bioavailability, compared to other forms of calcium.
Check the calcium content of your other vitamins and think about the dietary calcium you take from your food to determine your total calcium intake - then estimate what you lack. Most post-ops consume 500 or more mg of calcium daily from almond milk, spinach, yogurt & dairy milk.*
Directions: As a dietary supplement, adults take one or two capsules daily, preferably with food or as a health professional recommends. Each capsule is 250mg of elemental 'super' calcium.
